About the region

CPTPP is a new-generation FTA between 12 Pacific Rim economies (the United Kingdom joined on 15 December 2024). For Vietnam it has applied since 14 January 2019, opening preferences with Canada, Mexico, Peru and Chile – markets where Vietnam has no bilateral FTA. It carries high commitments on labour, environment, government procurement and intellectual property.
